String Recommendations for Eastman Grisman DGM 1?

I'm looking for a string recommendation for an Eastman Grisman DGM 1. Beautiful mandolin and very easy to play, but the sound lacks gravitas. I've had it for several years and am still not reconciled to this. I admit I use "light" strings but would be willing to try something more substantial if someone out there has used them on their DGM 1. Thank you forum members.

Some J75s will give it some go.. or J74s if they are too heavy for you, and action not too low.

I have Thomastik Heavy (Stark) on mine. Here's a vid comparison of mandos and strings, the DGM1 is second.

I just put on a set of J74's and am very pleased with the results. Will try GHS in future. Thomastiks are out of my price range despite their longevity. Thank you for all your responses.

I had J74's on my DGM1 but I found them too "bright" in tone. FW74's are a cheaper alternative to Thomastiks...
