    Default Playing solidbody

Who are the solidbody players worth listening to? Tiny Moore, Sam Bush (laps in seven is just marvellous), but who else? Just wondering.

While not strictly a solid body player, Jeff Bird of Cowboy Junkies gives electric mandolin a good go. He has a Gibson EM-200, which has magnetic pickups, and that's the main consideration. You might look through the listing of rock songs w/ mando thread, and give a listen to some of the unfamiliar names there - that is, the ones you know aren't playing acoustic. Probably some candidates. If you're really bored some Monday night - I think that might be Tuesday afternoon for you - you could listen to my band play via webcam. I might hit some halfway decent notes now and then. Say - how is it we joined at the same time yet I have more that 500 times as many posts as you? I must be really chatty ...
But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong. - Dennis Miller

Michael Kang from the String Cheese Incident, although he mostly plays semi-hollow bodied electric mandolins. Not sure if his style fits into what you're looking for musically, but he is one awesome player!

Eva Holbrock. Her Schwab on her solo album, "The Very Last Dream". "Born From Jets" is the song she plays it on in her "Slash's Little Sister" You tube posting.

I can't afford to buy the CD. 5 copies listed on Amazon from $95.00 - $206.25 + shipping.

She also pulls it out for some of SHEL's songs.
