    Default New Custom Flat Top

    Thought I would share a few photos of my latest Army-Navy mandolin,
    Crystal Forest #0612-013

    This mandolin features an adirondack red spruce top, red-curly maple back sides and neck. Binding front and back. Ebony veneer on peghead. Ebony fretboard with M.O.P position markers. Overall length 24 1/2", Body width 9 1/2", Body Depth 1 1/2", radius top and back (96") standard mandolin 13 7/8" scale length, adjustable steel truss rod, Grover 309, 18:1 tuning machine (nickel plated), bone nut, Cumberland Acoustics bridge Scalloped nickel plated tailpiece, Crystal Forest M.O.P. inlay on peghead.

    Other Instruments:
    OK, I know it's not a mandolin, but I wanted to build something a little different.
    Here a photo collage of a lap steel guitar I recently built.

    Crystal Forest Lap Steel Guitar S/N #CFLS0612-1
    Solid white maple body, rosewood fretboard with low steel frets, custom made polymer clay position markers. Brazilian rosewood peghead veneer and trim plates.
    Standard lap steel 22 1/2" scale with 2" ebony nut.Kent Armstrong #MP-112K single coil pickup. Telecaster style, fully adjustable bridge. 500k volume and tone pots and standard 1/4" input jack. Grover 18:1 "Sta-tite" tuners. It's fun to play.

    Hi Terry,

    Great looking instruments. The stain you picked for that mando really brings out the figuring in the wood. Please post some sound clips if you get a chance. I'll be they sound as good as they look!
