    Default Gibson Monroe Model

I have a Gibson Monroe Model #143 of 200. I'm looking to sell. Does anyone know what the going rate should be for this mandolin? It's a varnish finish in good shape that has been played. Recently refretted and new bone nut added by Gibson. Any help would be appreciated.

Somewhere just south of 10k seems where they are priced although I'm not sure if there actually bringing that much or just being offered for that price. Good luck on the sale and thanks for playing.

I think they sell for around $7,500-$10,000 like PJ said but I think it's important to note that a lot of them are lacquered and not varnished. Maybe you should ask Gibson what they think also...

Most of them were varnish. Not to be confused as the same type varnish used on later MM and DMM models. I think only about 50 were done in the lacquer.

don't know but there sure are a bunch of them for sale today. i think Gruhn has 3 and Carter's had 3. One with the rare red spruce top which was a special order.

I'm very familiar with the red spruce one at Gruhn's. I prefer it over the other Monroe Models I've played ....... (probably played a dozen or so to date).
