    Default Chord Voicings - HELP!

Does anyone know of a music book that shows different chord voicings for mandolin in an easy to understand format? Such as:

A with the root in the bass (graphic)

A with the third in the bass (graphic)

A with the fifth in the bass (graphic).

I have the Mel Bay Deluxe book, but it's not incredibly helpful in the way the chords are grouped.

    Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Mike Marshall has a DVD all about this. I highly recommend it.

There are a couple of nice pdfs floating around of 3-note chords

This one by Charlie Jones is pretty exhaustive ( the first page may be what you want)

This one by Don Julin is nicely concise:

    I like Gordon Stobbe's book

    Mandolin Chordology

    http://www.fiddlebooks.com/bookcontent15.html

I take lessons from him and find the book very logical and easy to follow.

Niles Hokkanen(mandocrucian) published a comprehensive little book on chords, their construction, use & whatever else. You can get it through him, or, I think Elderly carries it.

For those with an iPhone, the Basichords app is great or this purpose. Easily flip between multiple voicings of your chosen chord, with R,3,5 etc listed beneath the diagram.
Oh and NFI, just find it a great app.
Hereby & forthwith, any instrument with an odd number of strings shall be considered broken. With regard to mix levels, usually the best approach is treating the mandolin the same as a cowbell.
