Default Wild Man From Borneo by Kinky Friedman

O.K. first I have done some homework on this and searching the cafe I can find no references to this song. Searching the web, I find plenty of stuff for guitar, but can't find anything for mandolin and no standard notation in general. I think this is a great song and I really want to learn it.

Anyone here at the cafe ever done tabs or standard notation on this?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

I'm not finding anything either. Looks like you're going to have to learn it the old-fashioned way - by ear. But it's pretty straightforward, all I-IV-V other than the second line of the chorus, which has a III chord leading to a IV. I did find this site, which has a video (version by Guy Clark) with the lyrics on the side. It's in D, so that is an F# chord - I usually play that 3446, to the 4557 G. Guy changes the words to the third person from the first, but the lyrics are the way Kinky wrote them. Just keep playing with the song over and over till you get it. Shouldn't take too long, and you'll learn in the process. Nice song, BTW, kind of the softer side of the wild man from Texas. Good luck!

Cool! I think that, as is so often the case, there won't be mandolin tabs for this. Too obscure. But with chords and lyrics and a recording, you should be able to make it the rest of the way. Have fun!
