Default Early (?) bowlback on ebay UK

An interesting bowlback is listed on ebay UK:

Looks fairly early to me, perhaps early 1800's. Any ideas of it's origin?

    Hi Vic,

In the classical section of the board we have the Bowlbacks of Note thread. You can also post there. This is the place where we usually post information about interesting bowlback mandolins for sale on ebay.

    Best,
    Plamen

It doesn't look all that early to me. Looks like it was meant to have machine tuners originally. The headstock is sort of unique but the bowl looks rather mid-grade and more later 19th/early 20th century.
