Hi all. I just got a mandolin after playing flattop for so long I'm embarrassed to say after you hear me play! I'm really enjoying it and finding it a very easy transition to make, although proficiency and 'ease' are two different categories

I've enjoyed reading the posts here and look forward to participating. I live in McKinney, TX just North of Dallas and am hoping to find some other players and bluegrass jams locally.

As for my sig and user name; everyone always has questions so I'll just go ahead and tell you!

el Extranjero de la tierra extraña translates roughly to Stranger of the strange land. This is a rough play on Heinlein's classic novel "Stranger in a strange land". I've registered latierraextrana.com (The Strange Land) and intend to use it as a hosting platform for 'free speech' forums at some point.

Anyway, I'm glad to be here and thanks for the welcome!

Hello and Bonjour as we say in Canada re: our two official languages.
