    David Tiller

Wow. Exciting to see David's name on this list. When I lived in Austin 20 years ago I bumped into David on the street. I gave him a sandwich in exchange for him playing some Bach on the mandolin. He also played a converted dreadnought mandocello. Anyhow, I let him crash at my place and we became a duo of sorts for a while. Great memories of a great player.

Listen to Jack Happy. It is track #35 on the Mandolin Cafe Mp3 player, and it's also attached below.

Fred's fine playing has a very Zappa-esque character that I think qualifies it as Psychedelic.

I think the first mandolin player I saw in person was Robin Williamson of the Incredible String Band. I saw the ISB at The Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin TX in 1970. I never got over the infatuation with the mandolin after our first meeting.

Jeff Austin of YMSB pretty much has to be on this list.

Nash the Slash - who else dresses in bandages like the Invisible Man, and plays an electric mandolin in the shape of a skull?

I was searching for something else and came across this old thread, pretty good read so I had to bump it to throw in Jarrod Walker. Been listening to him a lot lately and while he is a SOLID bluegrass mandolin player I’ve enjoyed some of his extended solos with Billy Strings
I should be pickin' rather than postin'

I got to see them twice last year, and Jarrod Walker has got to be one of the slickest pickers out there. His style is somethin' else...
