Thumbs up My new J.Bovier F5 Dorado

I just picked up a J. Bovier F5 Dorado on the weekend.(Acoustic Music Shop Edmonton, AB) It was noncurrent inventory. It is a 2009 model. I contacted Jeff Cowherd of J. Bovier mandolins yesterday, because the model number written on the tag inside did not decode to the mando at all. Jeff is a great guy to talk to. Turns out the wrong number were written on the tag when it was made. Looks like I did good on the purchase. It plays and sounds fantastic. Jeff told me that it was one of the last ones made in the Korea, before production went to China. I'm not an expert mandolin player, but I've been playing acoustic guitar for over 30 years (not an expert at that either) and I can tell you this is a very good instrument. The fact that I could contact Jeff, and that he is so personable says it all right there. There might be bigger brand names, or maybe ever better brands but it would be tough to beat that kind of person service.

I would definatly recomend a J. Bovier Mandolin. Thanks Jeff.Click image for larger version.

To play or not to play? Well that's a silly question.

Thank you for that coldbeergocubs. We jad a little jam session last night at the house. First time playing the new mando with anyone. Everybody was impressed with it. I didn't even take the guitar out of the case all night. I addicted to the mandolin!
