Livin lovin maid is the first lead solo my guitar teacher taught me (second song too) :D ... love it. I've never tried overdriving mine. maybe that epi still has a place.
Jim's Hendrix tunes are fantastic (as are his others) always a treat to see a new one. Nice incorporation of some Zeppelin too.

Jim already posted this (along with a video of him playing Bold As Love) over on the Rock forum. Sorry about the duplication.
Great, great stuff!

I'm casting my vote for Jim Richter as Mandolin Player of the Year!
2015 Chevy Silverado
2 bottles of Knob Creek bourbon
1953 modified Kay string bass named "Bambi"
The bluegrass police would never allow it. We'd need to bring in the National Guard to ensure free elections.
Thanks for posting, Ed. Truth be told, what you hear there is what I hear in my head when I do the rock or blues stuff. It's a challenge to get it to come through on the acoustic (have to be pretty inventive!). Missing the power/loudness and the sustain (which is why I favor playing on the G and D courses and loved it when I had my octave cause I could get it to boom)

New favourite Jim Richter video.
Ed, thanks for sharing.
So much goodness on this guy's channel. Keep up the great work Jim.
Hereby & forthwith, any instrument with an odd number of strings shall be considered broken. With regard to mix levels, usually the best approach is treating the mandolin the same as a cowbell.
As always outstanding! For a guy with so many irons in the fire (school, work, bands & Family!!) he never ceases to amaze. I don't know how you do it Jim!!
great playing Jim! It's nice to see a fellow Hoosier ripping it up like that. I spent about 5 years in Bloomington, and have relatives in Bedford and Bloomfield. If I ever had to move back to the midwest, Bloomington is the only place I'd go.
