Default Testing video tutorials for the forum

For some time I've been considering video tutorials for people that need support with common questions regarding forum use. Today I've taken that first step and set up a Vimeo account for this purpose so they can be embedded here and will be thinking of a way to organize these so they're easily accessible. Feedback welcome, but sorry, I can't eliminate the Western Kansas accent--nor did I clean up my desktop from strangely named folders which I'm sure someone will point out. I'm thinking some common tutorials might include how to embed videos into posts, how to add/edit avatars, change privacy settings, etc.

So here goes: a tutorial intended for new users on how to make a first post and upload images.

Nice, Scott. I think it will be very helpful to folks who are trying to figure out some basics.

Fantastic! This isn't what I thought you sounded like at all.

O.K. this is a good idea. Well done and properly clinical. Easy to follow.

    Storing these here: http://vimeo.com/mandolincafe

Just did a second one and the cat runs up and meows a few times right in the middle. Had I been thinking I could have properly confused everyone by stating, "then make a cat sound just prior to clicking the YouTube icon..."

Or, "That's the sound of my Ajax Super Deluxe 9000. Notice the soft attack and very long decay, even as the note changes pitch on its own."

Nice Scott. FWIW, I've been using Jing for quick screencasts... I find NOT being able to edit the output is a nice feature... eg. they're intended to be quick.

I'm soon going to have an avatar. This post is here because the site owner has set up an account for making instructional videos.
