I am suprised there have been no comments from the one in classifieds. I remember a couple of years ago some builders talking about doing one like this. It's not for everybody but it looks cool.

Looks like a weird shaped Les Paul.
Its beautiful, not my cup of tea but beautiful. Hats off to David Harvey and the folks at
Gibson for thinking of something new.

I seriously love a gold top. I wonder how thick the finish has to be?
The back is quite nice...

Beautiful ... front & back!
Very nice and I'm kinda iffy on F-styles.

Gotta be alot of pigment of some sort on that top. Glad they lightened up the stain on the back. Alot of the older Gs (mine) have similarly brilliant maple drowned in brown stain. Pretty, but dark.
That goldie does have a Les Paul vibe.

I REALLY want to try that out.
It is a rather expensive F5-G. They should have binded the fretboard and headstock for that price. Too bad they are closed on sundays. I would be passing by pretty clode to them.
Yes, strikingly beautiful. Reminds me of Butch's fancy white paint F-5.
Nice! IMHO, it would be even cooler with a squared off, bound fingerboard, no flowerpot, and the 60's style Gibson logo.

I think it's kind of cool. Definitely different. When I was in college, I bought a gold-top Les Paul, which was the cheapest Les Paul I could find, and had the top refinished. Ah the callowness of youth! I would never do such a thing today, but then I would never want to own a Les Paul today, either.

My first "good" electric guitar was a used '68 Goldtop - sold it so I could get a Fender Strat, madness on my part but sure I wasn't even legal to drink at that stage so what did I know? Needless to say, I'm fond of gold tops - I LOVE that F-5G!!
Cheers,
