Yesterday marked one of only 4 times that (the remaining) members of Pink Floyd have reunited on stage since their less than amicable break up. It's a shame what music the masses lose out on when uber talented Millionaires just can't get along.
As part of his extensive World Tour, Roger Waters kicked off a 6 night run of the Wall at the 02 Arena in London yesterday with David Gilmour playing his epic Comfortably Numb Solo from atop the Wall.
A really good pal of mine had VIP Backstage Passes and primo seats for this gig in London yesterday and confirmed for me that for the last number, "Outside the Wall," Gilmour came out playing Mandolin - as it somewhat vaguely shows in the picture within the link below.... I imagine Gilmour could probably play the heck out of a mandolin, but probably not at the same skill level as John Paul Jones or Jimmy Page...
Incidentally, Drummer Nick Mason played Tambourine for this last song.
