    Question Beatles

Hi all! I'm a mandolin newb, learning/playing since Christmas. Does anyone have the tablature for "Yesterday" and/or "Hey Jude" by the Beatles? I'd love to learn these two. thanks!!

I have the book. The tunes are simple, but you can always embellish.

    Hi LauraLea:
Mandozin.com has a tab for "Yesterday" here.
To open and print it you will need to download the free Tabledit reader here.
The reader software is well worth having as there are many Tabledit mandolin tabs available on both the Mandozine site, and here on The Cafe.

... and of course we expect a video of your efforts and membership, perhaps, to the "beatles" social club here in the cafe:

I Will is one of the first songs I learned, and still working on. I bought the sheet music because a friend liked the song. It was a good exercise in reading music without tab. The most important thing I learned was the value of moving up the neck to get notes. I was learning from Hal Leonard's Mandolin Method and had learned the notes in first position, getting some of the notes was ackward, then I figured out that by engaging my little finger I could get the notes by moving up the neck which made the song much, much easier to play.

No mandolin content, but there is a uke project to record the entire Beatles catalogue on ukulele... cool project and some fun arrangements:
