I use 3 strings lower ones out of the Martin Baritone Uke set and 1 of the soprano set.
wound with silvered copper and aluminum over a multifiliment core fot the lowest pitch, the others are clear monofiliment.
I have a spruce-headded banjo-uke
I'm not sure about glued on bridges.
It is a bit more tension torquing the bridge.
I tune it a whole step lower,
at F C G D. I've found trying to tension them up to GDAE results in much shorter string life on the wound ones.
