    Default National Resonator Mandolin-Hot Plate

Has anyone purchased the hot plate for the National Resonator mando yet or ordered one with the hot plate? I saw that Rich DelGrosso is using it now. I did place one on order , of course it will take 2-3 months to receive. I have had the National before and it, as you know, is quite loud, but other than playing into a mic could never use it on stage. J

OH MAN!!! The one reason I've never gotten into resonator mandolins is that they don't come in AE versions (not many people know this, but I'm somewhat an AE fan). Now I have to get a resonator!

Funnily enough I was also considering this today and contacted National Resophonic about delivery times and postage charges. Looks like a fine piece of kit (as is the RM-1) and would be great for stage work. Rich DelGrosso's sounds excellent.

    Dear Santa...
If I call my guitar my "axe," does that mean my mandolin is my hatchet?

Anybody know the size? I'm interested in one for my Republic mandolian and was wondering if it would fit.

I probably sound stupid for asking this, but what is an AE?

appears to be available only on a maple body, not the walnut at the moment?

anyone know if there is much of a weight difference?
EDIT nevermind the website claims no difference. I guess we'll all find out more soon.
Hereby & forthwith, any instrument with an odd number of strings shall be considered broken. With regard to mix levels, usually the best approach is treating the mandolin the same as a cowbell.

I have one and have used it now in a number of settlings. It sounds great and helps one slide easily into a swing or blues band. My favorite part is that it sounds like a mandolin when plugged in. I'm not sure if I've ever heard a mando with a bridge or body pick p that didnt sound aweful and denatured. The hot plate is wondeful.
