Tiny Moore through a phase shifter! See him look down at his floor pedal at the end of the solo? I'd not seen this one -- great stuff. Also, what a voice Merle had at that time -- completely natural, great pitch, rooted in tradition (Lefty and Jimmie), playful and unpredictable -- a far cry from so many of today's country singers.
Thanks for that one.
Thanks Spruce - fantastic. Is it a phaser I hear in the TM break?

Great stuff.

Very cool.
Does anyone know who played bass on the studio recording of that tune? Bass is my main instrument, and I've listened to that track many dozens of times. I think it's some of the funkiest country bass playing ever recorded -- and I've never been able to find out who the player was.
Let's here it for the Hag as well! One of the very best natural born country singers/musicians ever, in my opinion.

Tiny is the Man. Too bad the director didn't pick him up into the last two bars!
Did anyone else find the sax solo just a hair out of place?

Besides the cameraman, the guy controlling the "APPLAUD NOW" light seemed to be following his own muse.... as a longtime steel guitarist, I've gotten used to the camera cutting to the guitar player's hands - which are just holding a chord - every time they hear something like a solo happening.
