    Default Congratulations SKIP KELLEY !

Skip won the Mandolin Championship this past Sat. at the East Rowan Civitan Bluegrass and Fiddlers Convention.

He played one of his A styles. Mark Parchment backed him on guitar. WOW !

    Good job Skip.

Thanks to all! I really appreciate the kind words! There were alot of awesome pickers there. I sure don't feel I played better than anyone else. Those young kids are really talented at such an early age. They give us older ones some serious competition.

Skip - ditto what everyone else has been saying. (Been out of pocket for a week or two!)

I've never met Skip personally, but anyone who has followed the Forum for any length of time knows Skip has nothing but kind words, knowledge, insight and high praise for fellow members, and especially other luthiers and their mandolin-crafting efforts.

Skip is a class act all the way around, and I'm sure that manifested itself in this competition as well. Way to go Skip!
