    Default Alder For Blocks

Anybody ever used this? I have a BUNCH left over from electrics. Right thickness too. Past threads show basswood used and mahogany as the traditional favorite. Alder is somewhere between the 2?

Just about any well seasoned hardwood and some soft woods are suitable for blocks.
