Gilchrist Model 3A #01509
A unique, one of a kind Gilchrist.
Figured since I was taking photos I'd add them to the thread.

That back looks familiar!
And it sounds fantastic!

Stumbling Towards Competence
[QUOTE=journeybear;834888]Dang! I thought you were talking about Sharon Gilchrist! Oh well ...
This is one way to tell for sure that mandolinists are not normal!
Ahem!
Good. I thought I was the only one hoping it was a picture of Sharon.
Had the pleasure of having her as an instructor at Kaufman's Kamp last summer and her good looks are matched by her incredible playing skills, teaching skills, and genuinely nice personality.
She played some amazing things on stage on her mandolin, but I remember her most by the phenomenal job she did backing others up on bass. Wow!

that's a great looking Gil, Arthur... if you're letting go of that and the Heiden that can only mean one thing...
It is hard times we're living in Glassweb.....tough for everyone, especially artists.
I'd much rather be selling my art than my treasures. These are both GREAT mandolins.
Here are a few of #06612. These pics are not the greatest,Dan,but I will get some better quality shots for the archive. This is a standard Model 5 with the wide neck option.

I recently offered 2 thirds the asking price for a Gil, no was the answer so i guess times aren't that tough for some..
Those pictures spruce posted of that F4 Gil has really got me. I keep finding myself coming back to look. The back wood on that instrument is just right. The whole presentation, including the scruffed up tail piece, has just got it. How much did you say....
