Thread: New Handel tuners

    Default New Handel tuners

I played an Altman mandolin today that had new(recently made) Handel tuners and I was wondering if any one knows who is making them?

Mike's Handel reproduction buttons are fantastic. I put them on Waverly tuners on this F4.

You can just buy a set of buttons? Do they cost as much as they look like they should? That is a really nice headstock inlay by the way!

I'm not sure Mike is still making them, I see to recall a post a while back that he had stopped. If I'm wrong somebody correct me. They are really a great item.

Here's an old thread with some closeup pictures.

The contact information for Mike is here in the Builders database.

Thumbs up Handel tuners on very nice headstocks

I like the pics, nice headstocks that are complemented with the Blohmers - and vice versa.

I have a bunch of buttons made up for Waverly F tuners I could sell now for $250 a set. I don't have any made up for other styles. I will be working on making more buttons this winter. Thanks.

That headstock looks uncanny Gail! Little bit of everything in that inlay. Not only does it look wonderful but it has a real "feel" to it. Great artwork!

Thank you Life Is Good. It really is beautiful in person but hard to photogragh. My sister is the artist, I just cut the pearl. She has done a number of unique inlay designs for me that are wonderful. It gets challenging trying not to mess them up in the translation to shell.

I bought a set of these buttons from a guy here in the café classifieds a few months ago and wow Mike does great work, must be tedious to make? some serious detail! They came on his Altman F-5 and I really don't know why he took em off the Altman and sold em? Lucky for me, cause they are spectacular.
