    What IS that finish that is put on the backs of these mandolins? It makes all their instruments look like polystyrene. BTW How are you going to out-bling Sicilian mandolins? A Quixotic task.

    Yeah, that's pretty restrained, considering the source. There are some vintage instruments that out-bling that.

    A strange one for sure - looks more like a German GDR-period mando rather than an Italian one as well (I'm going by the pickgard design and inlay) - it would be interesting to hear from David if he remembers that one!
