Hmmm...how's about the "Strings of LaReDuo."Depending on the type of repertoire you play, maybe you can play with words related to strings. . .. Maybe if you think of the name as a graphic, like for example: Acquavella and Jarrell have "La" and "Re" in it. You could play around with the name as if it would be a Logo, you might get interesting results.

I think I like "Acquavella" as well as anything. I think that the Italinate thing begins to sound pretentious.
contrary to fabio's excellent advise, i'd keep "duo" in the name - it immediately lets people know who you are and suggests intelligent music.
hackneyed? ... yeah, but what of it - based on your sample mp3 i'd suggest (wince) "caravan duo."
Wonder how Nate would feel about his name being left out altogether? Even "Acquarella" sounds too much like Chris' name. That's why I suggested Duo Javella or Duo Jarvella, even though they start with Nate's initial. But for both duo partners to be on some kind of equal footing, some amount of compromise has to be accepted. Also, they're short - 11 or 12 characters including space, and a sure conversation starter - "So, who's Javella?" or "Which one of you is Jarvella?"

Hello all,
So today is the final day for entries. Tonight I will print out all the suggestions and then go over them with Nate at our rehearsal tomorrow. I have also received some entries via email so there is a good amount of ideas. Results will be announced by the end of the week. Thanks for your help everyone.
Chris.....
Hello everyone,
So , believe it or not, we might actually have a winner! Nate and I met last night and looked at the best entries via cafe forum and email. It was a short list. I can tell you that we laughed for a long time at Dunkin Duonuts and Baroque Back Mountain but didn't feel these would be the best choices for our career. But we did select one that might just work. We are going to give it a week and let it roll off the tongue to make sure it is a keeper. Early next week I will contact and announce the winning entry (if chosen). Thanks everyone.
Chris,,,,
Hello everyone,
Congrats to Fabio (angelouself) for having the winning entry. The suggestion of La & Re turned into the winning entry of Duo LaRe. Nate and I have been tossing around the idea and feel that it sits pretty well. Duo LaRe is a lot easier to say than our names together and I think we'll find some nifty graphics for our debut CD. Cheers to everyone for your suggestions. Hope to see you all at one of our concerts soon.
Chris Acquavella
good name!
too bad you didn't go with "LaRe Duo". You could have had an album titled The Streets of.
Too late to the game....
