    Thanks for the great link.

It is long past time that Rawlings starts to get a little more credit for their long musical collaboration. That first Monroe song is so great and yeah it really brings out David's mandolin-like guitar work -- although the NPR camera person was kind of clueless at that point showing Gillian's backup handiwork on her J-50 rather than David's pounding, driving break on that vintage Epiphone arch top (I once read that model that he uses is made with plywood on the back and sides). Maybe plywood should be more widely used?

    Wonderful music!

They are on today's edition of NPR's Fresh Air. A fine interview with plenty of live, in-studio song performances interspersed.

I saw their show at the Warfield in SF about 10 days ago. This was right on the tail of their West Coast tour opening for Buffalo Springfield. They were fantastic and always have been. I had a backstage pass and nicer folks you'd be hard pressed to meet. Gillian was house mates of my pal, Mandolin wiz Mike McKinley of Santa Cruz's Harmony Grits Bluegrass Band which is how I got my pass.

At San Francisco's Hardly Strictly Fest they have (probably) the most consistently large and adoring crowd of all bands to the point where if you do not get in early and grab a spot for them you are screwed.

The Fresh Air thing was a great way to commute this AM.
On the way home on NPR news at 5:50 PM I heard a great piece on Colorado Bluegrass that featured Sammy, Bela and others and covered how the Communities of Telluride and Lyons have become Bluegrass Meccas regardless of the fact that they are festival sites.

I could not find a link to this CO item at NPR.org, but I'm guessing it will be present tomorrow.
