I will agree with you glassweb, that does look alot classier that the black tongue.....But I dont mind the black tounge! What I hate is when they just cut it off square.... looks cheap when they do that.

i got to play 164 for a little while yesterday. I will say it's probably the best new mandolin i've heard. it plays effortlessly and just seemed to come alive in no time. Will is at the top of his game. Is it heading your direction?

That's nice. But I think the best looking mando I've ever seen is the 2 pt oval hole that appears on the home page of Will's web site. That red really looks sharp on stage. I like the art deco inlays as well. I'm not a traditionalist, obviously.

    I wouldn't say no...

    Nice mandolin indeed!

What a mediocre build. You'd think Will would try a little harder.

What an outstanding looking instrument. I'm working a little Kimble envy right now. I need to play one. Anyone have one in NM? I'm really interested after all the glowing reviews and flattering endorsements around here. Will, if you're reading this a nice A style with some defects that you need to toss out would be just fine with me

Based on a sample of one, Mr. Kimble REALLY knows how to build a mandolin. Very responsive, great balance and sounds old. And this from a month old instrument.

Coming from a very biased supporter and friend, Will is the best. End of discussion.

Seriously if anyone in New Mexico has one I'd really appreciate an opportunity to play it.
