Default assembly of a good kit

I am currently in the process of assembly of 2 mandolins (for my grand kids)
i fell i can handle everything but the fret job this seems to be most critical they are both A models I know there are many ways of doing it but i want to have a nice job what are some options or should i let a luthier do it

Stewart Macdonald has a book on fretting that is pretty informative. Before I do another fret job I am going to get a good diamond fret crowning file. I have been using a small triangle file with a safe edge ( to keep from damaging the fretboard) and it is tedious and makes me talk nasty.

I have seen their fret basics dvd and it is good for the beginner. I'm gonna say that fretting is very important and that doing it looks scarier then it actually is....Mike

Tools are the big thing here, make sure you have the best files, small sanding beam and good fret cutters from Stew Mac. Makes the job a lot easier.
