Thread: Band in a Box

    Default Band in a Box

I took recommendations from this forum and got Band in a Box. Does anyone have any bluegrass band in box files already created they would be willing to share with me?

Also, Jack Tuttle has 150 fiddle tunes set up for Band in a Box; see the BiaB section on this page; http://www.jacktuttle.com/tech.html.

Also if you don't already have them, you will probably want the Bluegrass rhythm RealTracks for BiaB (I use set 11 & 33, but don't see any need for the solo sets).

Here's one I made: "You'll Find Her Name Written There."

It's got bass, rhythm guitar, banjo, and fiddle, so perfect for mando practice (uses style called "_DOCBG._F.STY Slow Bluegrass w/Fiddle," from Country 35 group, set RT #33). The track I made has just an intro, one verse for you to sing, and one verse for your break, then a 2-bar ending.

It's at a slow 60 bpm, and in the unusual key of F for my singing voice, but you can easily tweak those settings in BiaB.

I love how good the style with the RealTracks musicians sound on this, and I even figured out how to get the fiddler to play a cool little fill in just the right spot.

Most of the suggested sites are for BIAB midi files. You didn't say if you have any of the bluegrass Realtrack Styles. You can import the midi files and then assign realtracks to them. The midi styles like 5 string etc are pretty "Hokey" the realtracks are real instruments and real musicians. If you don't have the bluegrass real tracks from PG Music, get them, a world of difference.
