Default Englishtown music hall in n.j.

How many out there went to the great bluegrass concerts at the hall in the mid 70's? For me, it was the begining of my moving from southern rock guitar to bluegrass mandolin. Being able to see and even talk to such greats as frank wakefield and jim&jesse was really a great experience.
The hall was built at a time when there were no mics. So the designers used some sort of wood stripping which was applied to the walls and ceiling which resulted in near perfect accoustics.
Sure be nice to have it back and not have to go out of state to get in the circuit of present day concerts. Thank god we have the albert hall and the njbluegrass&oldtime music ass'n.

My first live bluegrass show was Bottle Hill with Barry Mitterhoff on mando- that was landmark evening for me, probably 1976 or so...a great sounding room.

Saw the Seldon Scene there in about 73'. Great show. Played once with my dad at Albert Hall and he played there a bunch with the band Murphy's Law.

Gawd...I played there back around '74 or '75 with a band called Devil's Dream . Driving to Englishtown was like a trip to somewhere in backwoods West Virginia back then.....Nice memories
