Thank you. I have been searching on and off, the closest I had found would be Paul H. or a few others over in the Santa Cruz Area. Seams most of the luthiers here in CA live in really nice areas which unfortunantly for me, are not near by. For a city of it's size, Fresno does not have a lot of things you think it would/should...

Fresno does have a really good Porter (dark beer) at the Sequoia Brewery behind the Tower Theater on Olive. You can drive a few miles for a luthier, but keep your brewmaster close!

That we do! There are actually 2 Sequoia Breweries. There is one in North Fresno now.

I've never been to the one up north, but did have salmon for lunch on Friday and came home with a five gallon keg of porter. My wife had their excellent beer battered fish and chips and all is well with the world. They have open mic nights wed and thursdays from what I understand. I could bring my guitar if you would like to give it a whirl sometime.

I am not a mando virtuoso yet (not even close). I can plunk half a dozen basic chords and the major scale pattern is about it. I do play guitar (rhythm), but never bluegrass and have never been in a "jam session". My playing is mostly regulated to home and church. The mando is my new addiction (I don't even own one yet) mostly to add a new acoustic flavor to our worship band.

Just so you know- BJ's has some fantastic (micro) brews and food as well, but the atmosphere is kinda lousy (too loud).
