    Default Two new Nava mandolins

    Hi Guys,
This week I‘ve just completed these two mandolins. A cocobolo and red spruce twin-point with a custom tree inlay and one of my “Standard “mandolins, this maple one is the fourth built in this style. Both are awaiting delivery to their owners.
    Hope you like them!
    Cheers Gary

Fantastic work, as usual, Gary. Your mandolins are works of art. Wish I had the funds and the ability to warrant such a fine instrument.

Nice photos too. Do you take them yourself?

    Hi Guys,
Thanks for the positive comments; a few brief answers for you.
Yes I do take the photos; so glad that you like them, I really struggle, especially with reflections- what you don’t see is the other 100 or so that I deleted!
The tuners have abalone buttons – Siminoff
Both the mandolins are more than loud enough!
Thanks again- it’s very heartening to get such nice comments from one’s peers.
    Cheers Gary

    Gary,
Beautiful work as always. Your instruments are in a class by themselves.

Is that center dart made of cocobolo, or bubinga? Very slick instruments -- can't wait to see your e-mando.

Very nice, Gary! I love that deep look of the cocobolo. These are both flattop mandolins?

If they are the same as mine, which I would imagine, they have an induced arch.

The centre piece is also cocobolo but from a different board- I liked the contrast. Serious work next week on the e-mando!

Thanks Jim- as Richard said they are flat-tops but have an arch induced by the bracing.

Those look fantastic. I agree about the tree inlay and love the dark back.
