    Default Nigel Forster Mandolin

I'm rather useless with links or imbedded videos, but there's a link to a Youtube video on the session .org site of a player named Ian Stephenson playing Nigel Forster's new A oval style mandolin. Forster was Stefan Sobell's apprentice and seemed to be paying attention while he was there. He makes bouzoukis and guitars as well.

Nice sounding instrument and very fine playing from Mr. Stephenson.

Nigel himself has posted the video in the general discussions section.

Randy Clepper of central Ohio has a Nigel Forster five-course bouzouki. It definitely has some little audible Sobell lineage but is also very different. I don't know if Randy has released any recordings of it.

I haven't seen any of Mr. Forster's instruments that didn't have Brazilian rosewood back and sides and a list price of five figures. Perhaps the mandolin is less...

I haven't looked since last week, but there was a Forster guitar (used) at Dream Guitars' website. I didn't look at the price. It also looked much like
    a Sobell, but different.

£2420 for the burst, according to his website. Nice looking mandos, I would certainly like to try one.
