    Default Been away

for a while taking care of some personal business but would like to announce that My better half and I are now proud sponsors of a new/old band that calls themselves "BITS OF GRASS"

Our Web site has just gotten off the ground and we all are excited about getting fired up and pckin for the fall festival season!

The band is very talented and only thing we do is give moral support, drive them to a gig or so in our bus, and learn every time they come to the house to practice material!

You can view our web site at: http://bluegrass41.webs.com/

Any comments or suggestions are well appreciated!

    Thanks
    Ace

Careful, careful - "Been away" is often used as a euphemism for having been in jail (OMG !!)
Other than that WOW !! - who's the singer on your website opening track ?. Whoever it is,i wish to heck i had a voice like that - i'd never stop singing - brilliant, & keep us posted re.your band,

yeah Donnie Harvey has a nice singing voice. Nice smooth sound.

Little disapointed though that when you click on each band member there is a clip of them playing but the mandolin players page there is no clip at least nothing played when I clicked on it.

    Good luck to them!

Ahh sorry, I was informed that this web site is a temporary site and the singer that starts off on the page is actually borrowed from another site and is Tony Rice. I am now told that when they get clips of each player, it will be updated!
Sorry for the confusion! Hey I'm just an excited sponsor!

No problem Ace - At least we know those guys are around. I did realise that the Banjo picker was Bela Fleck however,

Like I said, I sort of caught heck for sending that link out to the public. It was supposed to be for me and the band only, until the mgr. got the real one built. Hey what do I know? They tell me I'm part of it, I'm a happy picker! I just thought since there were new pickers in the band that I have never heard before that they were plain awful good which is the feedback I was getting from those of you that went to the site. I DO know that the group is VERY good and hopefully when they DO get their own site up with sound clips you will agree as much!
Again... sorry for the misconception! I wasn't trying to make local pickers here look or sound as good as the big name stars that were used for the clips!
    My mistake!

No problem Ace! Once I made copies of a gig recording for band members. I spliced some extended applause from a Beatles live recording to fill in some time at the end of the cassette. It was funny.

And, if you get Tony Rice and Bela Fleck to join your band, I predict success...
