Grey Fox 2009 Cafe Meet and Greet?

Now that we're much closer to Grey Fox 2009, let's try this again...

Last year the Cafe's Meet and Greet at Grey Fox was a really wonderful experience. Not only did we get to meet other Cafe members, we had a totally delicious mando tasting. I know I'd love to see a repeat for this year, even if D'Addario doesn't give out packs of free EXP-74's...not that I would mind that either!

So, let's hear from those who might also be interested, especially if you are associated with a sponsor or a vendor who could host us for an hour!

My brother Tom and I had a great time hosting the mando tasting last year, and the D'Addario guys thought it was a great idea. I had really counted on doing it again this year, and make it a regular event. Do to unforseen events we will not be at Grey Fox this year. I will miss all the fine instruments I had the opportunity to play and all the great players I got to meet. Maybe next year. Time will tell. In the mean time if any of you folks make it to Hickory Fest in Wellsboro pa. or to Laurel Hill State Park Festival in Somerst County Pa. in August, we'll be there, not as a store but with our band Paradise Ranch.

I'm sorry that the Wades won't be around for GF. I appreciated their hospitality, and they were great to do business with as well!

Any chance that the good folks at D'Addario lurk on the board?

A very close high school friend of mine (I'm 52.......so it's been a LOT of years), that I still talk with almost daily, had been going to Grey Fox (formerly known as WinterHawk), for over 20 years straight.

He and his wife won't be going this year, due to a rather tight budget. I know how much that tears them up inside, because it has meant so much to them, over the years.

Personally, I don't miss the "hill" at "Winterhawk" at all, and I've not seen the new location, but they tell me it has some good points and bad.

Best wishes to all who attend this year.........maybe one day, I'll be able to get there again.

glad I got to see some of you all yesterday... I was just down for the day, and, not having read this thread, just happened to get pointed to you all by Mr. Eck... thanks for the hospitality! Wish I could have stayed all weekend, but I had made plans for the NYC ballet up at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center... with the boss... See you all next time!
