This one from eastcountypawn in El Cajon, CA. Looks like a Rover. Either someone is pawning a ton of these fakes and getting money for them or these guys are buying them from a distributor.

I got the following e-mail from the seller:
"Contrary to the comment on your message board, we are not "buying them from a distrutor". We purchased only one with the belief it was geniune. The only thing we're guilty of is not being smart enough to recognize it as a fake; but last I checked that's not a crime. Contrary to what some people still seem to think, there are pawn many shops who are honest and who value their customers. We are one of them. The auction was ended as soon as we discovered the mandolin was not genuine."
He read half the message but it's great that he took down the auction. I'd say somebody has a scam going up and down the west coast.

To give credit to the buyer this fake was slightly different then other fake A's we've seen. Still a fake is a fake and if you try to pass it along as the real thing you might be in liable for fraud.
I wonder how many folks end up believing that they bought a real Gibson. It makes me think of all the folks who think they got a fantastic deal on speakers when they buy their Olin Ross speakers from a guy in some parking lot.

He has some other mandolins listed, another A9, an A-Jr from 1924 and an A-2 from 1919.
I don't have the best of eyes to catch this stuff - a cursory glance at the A-2 did not reveal anything.
This one looks like the ones that were in Texas and in Oregon. It's in West Virginia. Same wrong orange label and all on the cheap pacrim mandolin.

Those other mandolins aren't his, those are eBay's advertisements for other similar auctions. The A Jr. is being sold by railroadguitars in Cornelia, GA. It looks like a new name for Mitch Simpson.
By the way, there are two Snakehead 1924 A Jr.'s on eBay right now, both with make Offer buttons.
