Default traditional music in Pacific Northwest

This year at Wintergrass, I learned that I don't really like to listen to bluegrass for more than an hour and, only then, when it is played by the best players. But I could listen to traditional music — fiddle tunes, sea tunes, Cajun, Cape Breton, Irish — for many hours. I seek info about any traditional music festivals occurring in the Pacific Northwest in the next 6 months. Something outside where jamming happens. Thanks in advance.

Well, the Centralia Old Time Music Campout is a week long thing is August and is excellent. (That is its reputation; I've not had the pleasure of attending yet, but I pick with alotta old-time folks, and they love it.) It's all jamming, there are no official shows as I understand it.

Then there's the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes festival at Port Townsend, June 28 to July 5.

    Hope that's helpful.
