Stevenmando, check out Harmonious Wail's music files under the MP3 section off of the home page of this cafe. There are a lot of good modern gypsy swing groups out there, but Wail is one of my favorites.

Stevenmando, I found the website for Bireli Lagrene and listened to some of their clips, really great stuff, now the only problem is trying to decide which CD to get first. Sheet music should be available for a lot of Django's stuff and there are some tablatures on http://www.mandozine.com (formerly co-mando).

    Hi,

If you love Gypsy Swing and are in the Pacific Northwest, don't forget Djangofest Northwest begining September 30th. Bands include Boulou & Elios Ferré (their father Matelo Ferret and uncles (Baro and Sarane) all played and recorded with Django and were amazing soloists), Angelo Debarre (brilliant Manouche gypsy from France), Pearl Django, Swing Gitan, The Djangomatics, Django's Tiger (from Portland) and many many others! Workshops are also scheduled and there will be plenty of serious jamming with players of all levels. Act quickly because tiny Langley Washington (on Whidbey Island) is booking up FAST!
    I deal in lead, friend.
