Well, I have not done a show like this in three years but here is where my tenorbanjoguy handle came from! Sure felt strange to not have my mandolin!

Fun stuff! Well done, Ken. You've got some skills.

Thanks Jamie! It was fun to do that show again!
Here are the other clips that I have from that show if anyone is interested in seeing me embarass myself on the tenor banjo! (Tonight I do my mandolin set...wish me luck!!)

Great stuff Ken! Seems good to listen to that style music again.
By the way, your forgot to introduce your pickin' partner. She does a great job herself.

Sounds great! Fun Too!
Great stuff! Even if it is from playin' a b*#~o.
I too played a bit this evening. First time with someone else. My nephew and I played "Dance Tonight" as a duet. What Fun!
I look forward to getting good enough to do this kind of thing again in the future.
Thanks for your posting the video. I so enjoy hearing so many different styles of music.

Great stuff, Ken. Was that a banjo convention?
My banjo club meets tonight. Any chance you can make it from Anchorage to Spring Lake, Mitchigun tonight?
Thanks for all of the nice comments!
This show was at the Anchorage Folk Festival. Its the warmest thing in January here! The festival is non-profit and is supported by members and is 8 days long over 2 weekends. You sign up and get you 15 minutes of fame...literally! They bring up headliners for each weekend. The headliner this weekend was Nightingale and they were fabulous!!! Next weekend is Bearfoot, so local group makes good! The Raggedy banjos had the pleasure of being one of the opening acts for Nightingale so we had a pretty good crowd, maybe 700 people or so. It is a lot of fun! My mandolin set last night went great! I am so pleased with it, look for youtubes in the near future!
Bruce, if there was any way I could make it to your banjo club, I would do it in a heartbeat!!
Oh, and my partner is Cheri Spink and she is an amazing musician and has taught me so much about the showmanship part of performing!
It's hard not to have fun with that music. I have a TB gig tomorrow with my ragtime brass band.
(btw...just what in the **** is banjo talk doing on this tenor GUITAR forum?)
Tenor Banjos in Irish Tuning GDAE meet the bill just like tenor guitars tuned GDAE.

My comment was somewhat facetious ()...since its inception, I've advocated changing the name of this forum to be more banjo friendly. It doesn't make sense to me to name it a "guitar" forum when, I'd bet, the majority of single-string, 5ths-tuned instruments are banjos. At the risk of being a quibbling-granny (no offense meant, granny), either the forum name is a misnomer or, technically, banjo discussion is unwelcome (by definition). Aside from my tenor guitars, my 5ths-tuned, non-mandolin family instruments are not "modified to serve as such"--they are banjos (and happy to be so).

Ken, that was great! I went to your youtube, and checked out your others.... on your tenor, what tuning do you use?
