Listen up, people. Important birthday for the man again. I'm expecting party hats, confetti, horns and cake!

At this year's CMSA both Fabio Giudice and Sebastiaan de Grebber performed works by Calace. While either of these performers would probably make "Happy Birthday!" sound like a revelation, there is no doubt that their performances of Calace were profoundly moving on many levels. Over the course of the last year I have been, ever so slowly, making my way into Calace's Method (via the Lichtenberg/Marshall translation), always delighted by the artistry to be found in every new piece. Though I have a small number of recordings, I have to ask if anyone knows of a Calace discography somewhere to point me to all the material I am missing. Thanks.

I don't have an answer for you, but this might help. Click Advanced Search near the top right, enter the man's name only and select "Search Titles Only." Was surprised at the great number of discussions returned over the years. Might be what you're looking for.

Not that it's in anyone's neck of the woods, but the Mandolin Museum in Nagoya Japan had some amazing recordings.

I was also able to find wonderful books of Calace scores arranged for mandolin and guitar in Fukuoka.

    just sayin'...
    mando scales
technical exercises for rock blues & fusion mandolinists
mp4 backing tracks & free downloadable pdfs

Ha! Your astrological claim to mandolin virtuosity is much more solid than my own.

I have some favorites, although my own library certainly isn't comprehensive. Perhaps a thread with its own relevant title? I'd happily contribute to such after I shed the daily office shackles.
