Joel, I did have my friend Greg make a few clips...
I was looking for someone to review it, make some good recordings and post them, but I think I'll wait till it's broken in a bit more.
Think it'll ever be for sale?
Yes.
Hans - beautiful! I've GOT to make a snow-shoe trek over to your side of the big lakes in between us one of these days!
Keep up the great work! - Mark

Hi Everyone,
It's been a long time since I have posted on here. I own a manage the band Pine Mountain Railroad. I was talking to Hans last week and he was telling me about this mandolin. The F5R. I had him overnight it to me and I got it Saturday just in time to play it on our show that night. Of course it was shipped with the tension off of the neck. Another words, the strings were loose. All of you know it takes a while for most instruments to come to there self after this. It usually takes a few days for one to get back to normal. I tuned it up, hit a couple chops on it. IT BLEW ME AWAY! The fellow that plays banjo for me played for Doyle Lawson for ten years. As soon as he heard it, he said it reminded him of Doyle's Paganoni that he played for years. This was just after I strung it up. I played it at two venues this weekend and it mics wonderful. I have had some that sounded good until you put them in front of a mic. This one is clear as a bell. The sound is unique but it still has that punch and clarity one wants in a bluegrass mandolin. When you play it, it really feels like you are inside of it. The sound is all around you. I know that's weard, but it is true. So I bought this mandolin and love it! I will post sounds clips later. Those of you who have never played a Brentrup don't know what you are missing. Try it. Thanks Hans!
Thanks
Cody

No one but Hans. Wish I was there.
Brilliant observation, Darryl.
Cody,
I can't WAIT to hear what you do with it! Are you going to record with that one?
That review should really help Ken be patient. Not so much.

Gee I don't know why? With phrases like "BLEW ME AWAY," "sounds like Doyles Paganoni," "sound all around you" and my personal favorite "it sounds like your inside!"
This is going to be longer than I thought!
Hi Ken,
Yeah, I am going to record with it. Can't wait.
What kind of mandolin did you order from Hans?
Hans, will you be at Wintergrass this year. If so, watch for a guy in a felt hat

Cody, you are welcome and thanks for buying the instrument. Good to see ya on Cafe again.
I believe Cody mentioned to me that Pine Mountain RR would be in the studio today doing some recording. Hopefully, he will have a little extra time to make a soundclip or two...
Beluga, sorry to say that I won't be able to make Wintergrass this year. Just can't afford it.
I had to have a Stealth! More details soon as it will have some substantial changes from his last version. I will tell you that one of the hardest things that I ever had to do was pass on the mandolin that you have in your hands! As I said, I heard it on the phone, and I could hear that is was a monster!! I am sure you two will be very happy!!!!
Hans, am I missing something? I see in your "in the works" file a ) 0-45 (what?) I don't think I can think of many others that would /could do a fine 0-45, hence, I don't get the "what". Can you enlighten my severely clouded mind?

Tim, it's just that it's out of the mandolin realm...I haven't built a guitar since '74.
Ken and I have come up with some ideas on his new Stealth that should be interesting and we will be upping the horsepower on it. I'll try to jam that V8 in this one!
OKey Dokey! I just thought I was missing something. My dain is not as bramaged as I thought!
