    Default Tompkins - Australian builder

This photo was posted in the "Women with mandolins" thread - an Australian girl named Makaylie Foodey. The builder Tompkins does not appear on emando so I did a little googling to find out more info. The instrument appears to be Godin-like with the controls on the upper bout and RMC saddle pickups. They don't seem to have a page specifically about their mandos on their website, but the Nicki Gillis page has some details about the instrument. The other links below include further pics of the mandos.

Here's a nice photo of the instrument all by its lonesome:

Australian made 8 string solid body electric mandolin with RMC pickup system. Red Cedar body with flame maple neck, tortoise shell and abalone inlays. It's A$2895, so it's not chump change ... that's US$1915.

That black one is very coooooool. What's going on with the bridge? On some of the pics the bridge looks just like Godin's (I suppose for good reason as they use the same pickups), but on others there appear to be bridge covers (?).

ps It appears (at least in Australia) playing emando is a good way to meet women.

No, it isn't -- the women have their own emandos. They don't need yours.

Maybe selling emandos is a good way to meet them.

I did sell a Rigel to someone in Australia, but that someone was definitely male.
