Thread: new Mojolin

    Default new Mojolin

First-time poster, 6-month reader (as long as I've been playing). Anyway, I just bought one of Tom Morici's Mojolin kits. Great value, awesome quality, superb customer service.

Also, what a great resource this site is.

    Cheers!

Sleek looking mandolin. Does it have a slab style fretboard or a one piece neck/fretboard?

The fretboard is attached to the neck- btw it is 12" radiused.

It looks amazing. Two questions 1.) is that just a standard maple neck? 2.) Did the neck come fretted?
I've considered the five string a couple of times.

Yes & yes. Having to do the frets would've been way beyond me!

    Hiya,
I have been looking at that kit for a while now.

Did you go with the EMG or the DiAdarios (bad spelling)?
and how do they sound with a little distortion? =)
I'm guessing the neck pickup sounds mellow and the bridge pickup sounds edgy?

I went with the DiMarzios, and yeah they sound about like you'd expect. And nice with the distortion.

So far I'm really digging it. Although I'm not enough of a player yet to put it through its paces.
