Hi, all...

Saturday night I had the pleasure of listening to Town Mountain at a "Yard Party." NFI whatsoever, but had a blast standing in the cold and listening to them pick and sing. Their music ranged from old school bluegrass (mostly) to some classic rock/early 80's arranged in acoustic/BG forms (their version of the Boss's "I'm On Fire" definitely turned some heads ).

The temperature was in the 20's, but these guys flat out ripped it for the better part of the 3 and a half hours I was there, and they seemed to just really be starting when we left.

According to their MySpace page, Phillip Barker is their mando picker. He was playing a sweet looking Kimble F-style that sounded as good as it looked! I didn't get a chance to speak with him about it, because during their break they were refueling and I really hated to bother them, but according to the host they seem like a great bunch of guys...

If they play near you, I'd consider checking them out...talented bunch of pickers with great vocals, too!
