    Question Fender FM62SE fingerboard?

Thanks to Steve, I now know that the Goldtone mando has a flat fingerboard,
which is a deal breaker for me. Now I'm looking at some used Fender FM62E's.
Does anyone know if this mando has a radiused fingerboard?

    The specs say:
    Fingerboard: Rosewood (9.96")

I think this means that the fingerboard has a radius of 9.96", but I haven't
been able so to confirm this yet.

Also any experience, opinions on this mando will be appreciated.

    thanks,
    -vince

I recall handling one on the peg at the local dealer , it's a flat fingerboard too.

radius-ed fingerboard source would be : buy an original VT made Rigel.

I have one of those Fenders sitting here; the board is definitely flat.

Does the Godin have a bit of a radius on it, or no?

I have 2 of them, a pre and a post lawsuit model. Both fretboards are flat.

9.96" might be the length of the fretboard......

    Question Re: Fender FM62SE fingerboard?

    Guys,

Tell me your opinion of this mando? How does it sound electrically and acoustically?

    How is the neck/action?

Do you enjoy playing this mando?

I used to have a Fender 5 string and I enjoyed playing it, so I'm thinking that
this one may have the same kind of feel.

    thanks,

the fm61 is a magnetic pickup 8 string , largely solid body, ball strings thru the body.
I have one of those, , have modified by choosing different pickup, better jack, different pots
whole top plate , like strats and teles swapped as a whole, so replaceable for original set if desired.
its a flat fingerboard D cross section neck [the 62 tried on a peg in the local shop similar]

the 62 is an in the bridge piezo-electric
more acoustic, but not voiced as a decent acoustic with a piezo pickup fitted later would be.

with passive V&T controls set in the soundboard , near the F hole, [pass thru it to fit them]
and the adjustments for setup, are like that of acoustics.
the bridge is sitting over a hole in the top for the signal wire to pass through.

posted a couple years back, was a retrofit, sacrificing some frets on the end of the Board to make a platform to mount a kent armstrong floating magnetic pickup, trying to do as Phoenix Jazz, offering a piezo and a magnetic pickup type to blend.
8 to 4 string conversions are possible too, ..

has possibilities, may not satisfy straight out of the box.
