I am looking for a mandolin instructor in Chicagom with a focus on old time and bluegrass music. I searched through the instructor listings on this site with no luck.
If anyone is an instructor, or has suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Give this a try. They have two mandolin instructors listed.
Old Town
Good luck,

Have you found a teacher yet?
Where in Chicago do you live?
There are more than one great teacher in the north suburbs
I know of two in Evanston
and one on Skokie
Give Don Stiernberg a call. You won't regret it.
Wow....if Don gives private lessons, I couldn't agree more. #I took some classes at two Mandolin Symposiums, and he's great.Originally Posted by (Eric F. @ July 02 2008, 20:47)

I was playing a wedding gig a month or two ago in Denver and a guy named Colby Maddux, a cousin of the groom, sat in on fiddle for a few tunes. Great picker and a really nice guy, I believe he said he used to play mando with the Lonesome River Band. Anyway, I remember him saying that he teaches at the Old Town School, you should definitely give him a yell. Of course, you can't go wrong with Stiernberg either, good luck.
