Bill, Fabulous job. That's a fine looking F5. Thank goodness I don't have to choose a favorite among you builders. I think that would be nigh impossible.

Man. I'm finding myself in some pretty formidable company here -- but it's beginning to feel like home. Thank you all for your kind postings. (Don't encourage him, he'll just try it again!)

    A few answers:

Sorry, still don't have the website up yet. (*Yawn*) -- any year, now. Always happy to answer an email or phone call.

Yes, I'm building to sell -- just delivered this one this week, and am working on a short list.

Sound bites... well, they sure beat hot air. I'm making the PC-to-iMac switch and my wee brain is porridge right now, but hope to get there soon. Of course, then I'd have to practice. Dang.

Lynn, I like the results from those stamp makers who still use the old hand-operated pantograph mills, and there are still some out there. The one in the photo was made in Long Island, NY; but they're out of business. Here's another outfit that made one for me and did a good job:

    Fax: 517-784-5797
I've always done the original lettering 10x size, indicating finished length of the impression right on the drawing.

Y'all are best. Back to the bench now, before I lose my nerve.

Glad that the cat is out of the bag on this one Bill, I was doing the "pee-pee dance" keeping quiet about it to some of the folks around Kalamazoo. #Once again, you are showing how talented you are, Shapes all fall pleasantly on the eye, lines are not harsh or frustrating. #A fine example of how a thing of beauty is made.
If the sounds is anything like your prototype from last year (and you say it's BETTER?)I am going to really start looking for a kidney buyer! I was not sure when you told me about the abbreviated "Florida" but the shape works just fine, you can do whatever you do mine. We'll have to talk
I am priveleged to call you a friend.
Think you'll have another one by Summer? (just kidding)

If this sounds as good as it looks you're in business! Superb workmanship... congrats! Oh yes... extra points for so tastefully addressing the "problem" of fingerboard extensions...

Bill is one fine guy, and as you all can see his work is right up there with the best. I might have to get him to build me one .

    Bill:
Must be my turn to be picky. Why is there 21 frets on the first, frontal view and 24 on the two close-up pictures?

That is the new Expand-O-Fretboard (patent pending), which automatically grows or shrinks according to the player's ability.
