I've bumped this up on 7/3 to see if anybody else is headed to Camp Bluegrass from this group.
Anybody going to Camp Bluegrass this year. I went in '02 and took guitar and thinking of going back for some Mando.
The evening concerts are the bomb.

Two of my friends are going and they're trying to drag me along. Roland White is teaching mando from what I remember.
I'm leaning towards it but times are getting tough and I just had a baby 6 months ago. *errrg

My bandmate Beth Mead teaches banjo at the camp.
When 'good enough' is more than adequate.
This camp is hosted by South Plains College in Levelland, TX, sometime in around the third week in July. The town webisste offers some info, as I would imagine so does the college website. Joe Carr was an instructor there last year. It is sponsored by the Commercial Music diploma program at the college. Levelland is a descriptor of the area. Reports online say it is a good camp with great concert and jamming opportunities. Not been myself, but may be interested next year because I'll know someone enrolled in the program. dan

I got the OK from the boss to go today. I'll be making reservations tomorrow. I considered going to Kaufman's Kamp, but in the end I went with familiarity.
Since I'm going to take mandolin, I'll be able to take the airline since I can carry it on. I have plenty of frequent flier miles and I can save gas and wear and tear on the car.
The thing to remember about Levelland, besides being level, is that it's a DRY HEAT. When we left in 2002 it was 109F passing through Big Spring. The concerts and the jamming are great fun.

Bump...
It's July and I'm counting the days. I have one of the most important meetings of the year coming up at work and all I want to do is just get it over with...
