    Thanks everybody for the insights! Beethoven and cembalo is a can of worms apparently, that vagely reminds me of the "is it still bluegrass" debate....

    At this point I´m juste eager to hear the combination and what it does - maybe not for Beethoven, but maybe Bach - or Zappa:p

    Another combo I´d like to try is mandolin and harp....
    Who am I and if yes, how many?

    Eugene, thanks for the suggestions!

    Two days ago I finally got a chance to play with a cembalo player. I much prefer the cembalo/mando combination over piano/mando. We played a Beethoven piece (Sonatine in C)and it really works for that particular piece - I can see however, that it might not be the instrument of choice for slower pieces that require much use of pedals and long sustaining notes.

    It blended nicely with my Kimble, but of course I did not compare it with a bowlback.

    The only complaint is that the cembalo is living in Munich and I am Vienna-based. But there must be at least one cembalo player in Vienna, I guess...
    Who am I and if yes, how many?
