I have an oval hole eastman 618 maple back. I'm looking to replace the bridge. Anybody out there done this on these eastmans? Which bridges have worked out well for warming up the tone?

"warming up" takes more than a bridge. Cumberland, Simonoff, etc. Anything with good tight post/top fit.

That is logical, the energy transfer is better with closer tolerances in the way the parts fit together.
even if the materials used are the same.

You might want to try different strings as well. The JazzMando JM11 flat wounds have a warmer tone than J74s in my experience (on an Eastman 814). You can get them here. No Financial interest on my part, I just like those strings.

Having Stephen work on it likely will help too.
