    Hi all

I just thought you might like to see a few of my recent attempts at emando construction.

What do you do when you realise you've mismeasured when you were cutting the slots in a mandolin fingerboard? You make a 10 fret neck and then make a body to suit!

Solid Hoop Pine body, neck made from Tasmanian Oak, set off with Jarrah fingerboard.

I like the body designs a lot, but why such short necks on the second two?

    Neat emandos - coupla questions:

    - what's the white thing by the neck?

    - what kind of pickups you using (looks like two different types)?

    Hi

I'm using a 14 fret neck at the moment. I might go with something a bit longer down the track. Those notes get pretty shrill at the high end! :-) #The neck profile is actually a bit clunky on these... very "C" shaped early SG kind of cross-section.

The white thing is my little nameplate that says "Jupiter Creek Music - Australia". On the guitars I'm using them to cover the nut for the truss rod adjustment, so I thought I'd put them on my mandos as well.

Pickups are cheapies branded WSC and brought in from somewhere in Asia by a local music importer. Bartolinis and DiMarzios can come later!
